Tourist Information

The Sanctuary of Saint Philomena is opened every day to the public from 8.00 a.m. - 7.00 p.m.

The Sanctuary is near Naples. You will find some directions listed bellow of how to get to the Sanctuary.

It is approximately three hours drive from Rome.

If you drive from Rome to the Sanctuary, you must take the motorway Rome - Naples A1 and then the motorway Naples - Bari A 16, after about 25 minuets drive from Naples you will find the sign on the motorway and also the exit which you should come out of the motorway Baiano, once out of the motor way on the right side you will find signs for the Sanctuary five minutes drive and you will find Mugnano del Cardinale (Avellino) and also the Sanctuary.

Please note that there is another Mugnano in Naples. You should precise Mugnano del Cardinale (Avellino).

If you decide to come by train, you can get a train from Rome to Naples and then another one from Naples to Baiano, or even better out side the Naples train Station at Piazza Garibaldi you can get one of the Blue buses that goes to Avellino, normal route not the motorway route. Ask the driver to tell you once they get to Mugnano del Cardinale (AV) there is a stop at the end of the road which brings you to the Sanctuary, five minuets walk.
