Monsignor Braschi visits Briggsville Wisconsin, 14th - 16th November 2004
We began with mass at Holy Redeemer Church where the congregation included many St Philomena devotees, university students, and Hispanic parishioners. The mass was beautiful and was followed by dinner with the devotees and students. The following morning, Father Braschi celebrated Mass at the St Philomena outdoor shrine in Briggsville where visitors from all over the Midwest were gathered. States that were represented included Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. The mass was concelebrated by five priests, Father Murphy and Father Schmidt of Briggsville, Father Gierke of southern Wisconsin, and Father Parker of Illinois. The church was overflowing with devotees. A gathering was held in the church basement following Mass so the devotees could meet Father Braschi. A little girl not quite two years of age presented Father Braschi with a pail of cookies and flowers for St Philomena. The girl is a miracle child, the result of many prayers to St Philomena, her namesake. There were many other accounts of miracles given to Father Braschi that evening. It was a blessed day for the devotees and a moving experience all who attended.
